Today was a 3 mile pace run. The day off did me some good. My legs stretched out for the first time this week. I went out for 15 minutes each way. I didn't take into account that I would actually be moving faster, so the run ended up being about 3.5 miles. Great run.
Afterwards I drank a ton of water, drank an xs, had a couple sport twist tubes to rehydrate and a solid dinner.
My life is pretty great. I've got a beautiful wife who's always got my back, a steady income, great friends and my health. I'd love to take credit for the life I have, but really, all honor and glory goes to Jesus who's blessed me and my family tremendously. For that I'm humbled and thankful because there's nothing I could have ever done to earn the life I have now.
I was born in Ottumwa, IA. I graduated from Ottumwa High School in '95. I bounced around from college to college trying to get picked up by a professional baseball team in the draft. Only two things stopped me: talent and ability. Luckily I managed to cram 4 years of college into 5 and wound up with a degree in Math & CS.
In the next few years I made a ton a great friends, found out what good food really was, finished school, met my wife, moved to Austin and began chasing our dream.
Along the way I've learned to take risks, trust in God, work hard, listen to the right people and come to grips with the fact that some friends are really just acquaintances. I've had a life well lived and God willing, we'll keep on living for a good while to come.
